Taking place at Bootle Cricket Club and Litherland Sports Park, the after school sessions have proven popular with record numbers of young people attending over the summer months and set to continue as the programme launches for the new term in September.

Commenting on the programme, Jackie Westhead, Development Officer (Coaching) at Litherland Sports Park recognised the importance of such programmes in encouraging children to take part in physical activity,

“Getting active after school is a great way to burn off excess energy, meet new friends and learn new skills. The Active Kidz cricket sessions are an opportunity for children to have fun and feel great and they always prove popular with all ages as we have a great time and get active together.”

Running on a Tuesday from 4:00pm – 5:00pm for cricket and then Wednesday and Thursday evenings offering Active Kidz multi sports activities from 5:00pm – 6:00pm the sessions are open for children aged 5-11yrs and take place at Bootle Cricket Club and Litherland Sports Park. Different age groups are set on different evenings to ensure targeted activities are relevant to all children.
