ACTIVE WORKFORCE MEMBERS CLIMBING EXPEDITION
Two keen Active Workforce Members recently summited Island Peak in the Himalayas for charity.
Three of a team of six climbers summited Imja Tse (Island Peak) , 6189m (20306 feet), in the Himalayas, Nepal.
Mere Karki (Nepali) Mike Wardle and James Mealing (Active Workforce members) made it to the summit of the mountain at 11.30am on Wednesday 26th October.

Although they were suffering from chest infections, fatigue and altitude sickness, they braved a 1am start in their bid for the top. After success and seventeen hours later, they were safe and sound back in base camp. The whole trip took three weeks with an eight-day walk into the mountain.
As original members of Active Workforce, Wardle and Mealing thought it was only right to help raise the profile of their expedition but also raise awareness of their chosen charity, Sky Mountain Rescue Team.
